Worked on V-labs mostly today! Look at my work space!!!

Look how cluttered it is!!! Wowza!
The second lab that was assigned to me was handed off to Bridget, so now I just have to worry about lab 5.
That’s all I’ve been doing for this shift!

Not much is new from last week, but I did do more for the “dirty plates” Russian animation. I made a bunch more dishware types by googling 3D models for references.
I then started piling them on the scene itself; hopefully it looks messy enough? I’ll be making some minor changes after I talk to Tate later today.

I also finished the “Day of Election” and “Day Before Election” voting PSAs. There are just a few changes I made with edit notes from Tate (thanks!). Hope everyone will go vote!
Finally, the other major thing I did this week was help Ms. Jamieson with learning Cascade for the Portuguese Flagship Program. She had a lot of difficulties where she couldn’t access Cascade or the COLA db. But she was very enthusiastic about being able to work on a website! I taught her how to edit the pages, add images and links, and how to add news and events on the COLA db. I also put up the main image she chose for the front page.

Last time, I worked on a few AIH logo design:
I also finally finished the content portion of the AIH website!!!! But I still have to make new adjustments that Stacy asked me too… sed.
I also got the opportunity to finally work on the RUS412 projects for both illustration & animation. I had to color in the blank people for the previous illustrations:
For the RUS412 animation, Tate has asked me to decorate a bathroom shelf with bottles, towels, etc. Here’s my sketch so far:
And then I have been doing photo ID’s here and there:

This week I did some object creations for RUS412 and made some pans and a bowl. Pretty simple stuff. They’re going to be dishes for the cafe owner character to wash. I approve of this cafe system where the boss has to wash his share of dishes too.
I also quickly edited an ID for Dr. Joan Neuberger of the History Dept., who apparently won an award from the American Historical Association, so congrats to her! They wanted her ID up ASAP so that it would match the image on the press publications. Good thing the image was already very nice so I didn’t have to do a lot of edits and could upload it quickly.
Here are some other COLA IDs I edited this week:
For Sanika’s orientation (welcome!!!) I helped her with the STA Handbook PPT portion. She already knew how to use Powerpoint, so I just showed her how to find/paste the server path and also how to use The Noun Project to get icons. She picked some cute ones for her PPT; you can see a preview on her blog 🙂
Finally, I’m making more voting PSA cards for the online classes.

Today was my first day as an STA. After reading through the STA handbook with Suloni I made this Basecamp avi with Tate! After, I created a PowerPoint talking about some of the things I learned today. Melissa introduced me to The Noun Project which is where I got all of my icons from.
