Last day post ✧⁺⸜(●˙▾˙●)⸝⁺✧

Hellwowow guys~ It has truly been a wonderful experience working as an STA, and I have really enjoyed my time here. Suloni has been such a great supervisor and a friend to me; thank you so much for helping me throughout my time here! I looked forward to work every day because of the great people and the friendly work environment I found here. Because of you all, VLabs has been a great experience for me. I will miss everyone here dearly, and I hope we can see each other again soon!

Moving forward, I will continue pursuing my career in design with Hypergiant this summer in Austin! Let me know if you guys want to hang out this summer because I will still be around~

Thank you guys for everything.

Cheers,

Duo

Web Services Rebuild

LAITS! Web Services! Rebuild! Done??

Hey guys :’) it’s been a bit! Coming back from winter break I quickly realized that this semester was going to be wayyy different from last semester. With school getting harder (MIS I’m looking at you) & just general life I realized I had to cut back on my STA hours! So, since I’m working less, I’m just now finishing up the project that I’ve been working on this semester. I was tasked with redesigning & rebuilding the LAITS Web Services page & now I’m finally done!

Check it out!

It looks SO different from the original (see a couple blog posts ago!!), I’m in shock. I took a video of the page updating when we published the production page for my one second of the day today. Tim found it amusing. 🙂

Advanced Cascade Tutorial

Advanced Cascade Tutorial

Suloni asked me to create an “Advanced Cascade Tutorial” on the Knowledge Base since I’ve been doing a lot of Cascade stuff recently. She asked me to start with a tutorial on creating tables! You can check out the tutorial here, but here’s some screenshots.

Photoshop Lesson

Photoshop QUEEN

Today I sat in on a PhotoShop lesson that Chloe, Tate, and Jac were putting on for the Mellon scholars. I have zero (0) experience with PhotoShop so this little class was great for me to dip my toes into design! Here’s my finished product!!!

Cascade Tutorial

Updating the Cascade Tutorial on Knowledge Base

Suloni asked me to migrate the Cascade Tutorial for STA admins that was on UT Box to Knowledge Base. I migrated the Tutorial, updated some of the instructions & screenshots as that the databases & interfaces had changed since the last update.

My Tutorial

So if you ever find yourself having to learn Cascade as an STA, you’ll be using my site. :0

My Own Cascade Site!!

February 12, 2019 By Sanika Bhave

Ooh Artsy Cascade Site

Suloni had me complete the Cascade training tutorials with the hopes that I’ll be able to finish some Cascade projects this semester. Here’s the finished result!! I overall thought it was super fun and turned out pretty cute.

This is what the page looks like!! I tried to make it as ~artsy~ themed as possible.
What the news feed looks like! Make sure you attend my events.
The news feed. Really looks like the STAs had a blast.
I just wanted to show of my Banksy writeup.

One of the tasks was to create an “invisible” page and to create a “magic trick” with it. Here’s some snapshots of what it looked like.

Another cool task was to enter in the LAITS address & then link the box to a Google Maps display of the location. Here’s the output.

There were some cool other things like add related links (fellow STA links are linked now :’)) and contact information (I had clickers drop a line to Leonardo da Vinci). Overall I really liked working with Cascade!! I’m excited for some more projects. 🙂
