Progress!!

August 2, 2017 By Chloe Kim

A few of us have been assigned a scanning project for Dr. Edlund-Berry – the Morgantina Kyllingstad archive is extremely cool and delicate. So far, Bethany and I have been scanning the photo slides and are almost done with them. I’ve spent about 2.5hrs total scanning these and also color correcting the images for a much better version. Here are some of the examples:

I’ve also been given a lot of projects for PSY364 and TD301 and have been working with Patricia. One of them was to design a graphic for Let’s Jump Right In–unfortunately, the animation I’ve created needed a lot of adjustments, but thankfully Jac has been able to finish them while I was gone for the week.

I also was able to work on the Button Template training for Canvas; my buttons are on the left, and the original template is on the right:

I’ve been working a lot on the Oleg coloring for illustrations. Here are some more:

The snow scene would not have been complete without Bethany’s help – she drew in the winter clothes for the characters!! This scene was very challenging because I wasn’t exactly sure how to color snow, since it is supposed to be white… Nonetheless, the final product seems uber ~cool~.

I’ve also cranked out a lot of photo ID’s for the COLA faculty/staff/grad students. Here are few of the people whose photos I worked for:

Last Thursday, although I didn’t have the time to finish, I started brainstorming and working on a logo for a Communications (??) class:

And finally, I made my own character design for the STA blog!!! It was super fun utilizing everything I’ve learned in both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create a character that ~sorta~ looks like me:

I worked on a few coloring assignments this week and learned from Valerie a lot as to how to use Photoshop:

I’ve also done ~tons~ of photo ID’s that I haven’t been able to work on because of the RUS406 assignments!

I’ve also (I believe) finished all the animations that Lauren assigned to me:

“Suturing” Book Covers

July 5, 2017 By Chloe Kim

Today, I helped to combine old, damaged book covers for Professor Barchas using Photoshop. I merged the left and right images given to me for the “Penguin Jacket,” and had to just place left and right images for the “Acorn Jacket,” for there were no overlapping for the book. Without altering the images themselves, I saved the combined book covers and saved them as both .tif and .pdf files.

I also have been working on PowerPoint reformatting and multiple animations, both for RUS 406.
