These are my three different drafts for the COM 301 banner. Maddy suggested these assets from the animation to use so I tried to incorporate them in a variety of ways. I’m still waiting on feedback to see if there are any edits Maddy wants to see to make this look better. Then I will move on to make the canvas dashboard graphic based on what we decide to go with for this.
KB Color Corrections Continued…
I added another section about color balance. I think I have about four more sections to cover before all the tools for color correcting are mention.
I’ve been up to a lot recently, so here’s a big complication of my work from this week:
To start, I finally got around to creating a banner for my blog, as you can see above. I used Adobe Illustrator to create the simple leaves in the background, which complement my major and love of botany. And carrying over from last week, I updated speaker profiles and episode transcriptions for the podcast “Second Reading.” I also got the opportunity to edit more photo IDs.
Additionally, I also helped update a banner for the Class, RUS406. Suloni requested that I edit an old banner graphic with new text, and use that graphic in a new canvas page illustration created by Valerie.

Yet another project that I worked on this week is Indesign training. This is probably the assignment that I had the most fun doing- as article layout is something I am already familiar with and thoroughly enjoy. Here are the final spreads; I’m quite satisfied with how the pages turned out.
And lastly, I’ve been continuing Cascade site training. So far I’ve learned to create three different types of tables. I used these HTML tables to create a new page on my test site, which features lofi music that I’ve been listening to lately. You can check it out here
Finally, the actual Hebrew site has implemented the emulation of flash. I had to make a python script that adds the script and unifies sizing of the interactives (fullscreen), which went through and found about 400 different pages with flash, but now everything is where it was before, but emulated. Still ironing out compatibility issues (because this software is pre-release), but it is open source and updates daily so hopefully things work out fine. Regardless, it does a great job at removing other gross work that would have been done remaking these.
Today, I did more of the intermediate Cascade training. I had fun making the AI icons!
I am working on the home page design on WordPress for UWC. After my meeting with Stacy and the client, I have started working on creating an initial draft version of the page in WordPress. This is still a work in progress and needs more edits. In addition to the home page, I will need to work on an additional links section and alerts section that needs to appear across all the pages.
