Completion Status: Started on Jan 23
Staff Guidance: De’sha

I’m so excited to be doing the STA poster this semester! Currently we’re in the drafting phase. Though I’d love to show more of my drafts, unfortently I’ve been having trouble uploading my images so here’s just a few of my drafts to show.

Here’s an early draft:

And then we took a new direction to embrace more of a paper-y look, which brought me here:

And this is the idea we’ll be pursuing further!

HIS 315L: The United States Since 1865 – Pre-Roll/Title Slide

Client/Prof:Dr. Jeremi Suri
Completion Status: Started on Dec 12
Staff Guidance: De’sha
Completed on: Jan 10

Worked a lot on this project where I created all these little graphics for a pre-roll and title slide for HIS 315L! I tried to pick different objects/people from the previous graphics for the class and then did a lot of tracing/shape layer in Illustrator to get to the final designs. De’sha stepped in when I left for break and did the final touches.

CC 306M: Introduction to Medical and Scientific Terminology – Backdrops + stinger

Client/Prof: Dr. Tom Curtis
Completion Status: Started on Nov 28
Staff Guidance: De’sha
Completed on: Dec 19

Continuing this project from November, I added a few alternate backdrops to be tested:

Also made another little stinger:

Farewell Blog Post

December 18, 2023 By Princeton Tran

Farewell!

As the semester comes to a close, so does my time as an STA here with LAITS. I’m sad to leave, but excited for what the future holds!

Over the last couple months, I had a fulfilling and meaningful time. This is the first time I’ve gotten to work in an environment that’s so supportive and creative. I really felt a sense of belonging among my peers. My favorite part about working at LAITS was the weekly meetings where I could learn more about my peers and their personal projects and goals. One of my goals going into the job was to connect with more people and develop my creative skills, and I certainly was able to achieve this. I didn’t anticipate to be leaving so soon, but I’m happy for the time that I was able to spend as an STA.

One of my favorite projects was the logo designs for the ACME Widget Co., where I was able to flex my creative muscles and hone skills that I have been wanting to work on, such as logo design and illustration. I’m very proud of the results and the process that lead me to them!

As I grow and develop in my career, I will always remember my time at LAITS fondly. I’m so glad I was able to learn and grow with my teammates. Special thanks to De’sha, Leilani, Lorena, and Carrie, as well as everyone else who was so helpful and welcoming! Thank you for sharing your perspectives with me and helping me do my best.

All The Best,

Princeton

BYE FALL SEMESTER (& Fall Summer marketing)

Website edits: Photos and photo order were rearranged + a less intense color overlay over each image + animation moves from right to left now. We are also adding a sticker disclaimer on the website to clarify these courses are NOT the only courses UT offers in the summer– others can be found through the Registrar’s Course Schedule on March 1st.
