Studio Set Design Basic Training Updates

KB Make a Magazine Spread in InDesign Banner

Maddy assigned me this banner for the InDesign Basic Training. I had some ideas after doing some layout research and here’s my first draft. I’m still waiting for Maddy’s feedback so there might be some updates to this banner!

Update: here are some iterations after receiving Maddy’s feedback.

We both agree that we like the version with the straight-aligned texture more since it contrast with the rotated magazines. But I wasn’t sure if the image is copyright-free, so I drew up the texture on my own, and here’s the final banner.

Worked on the Digital backdrops project. I really enjoyed making layouts with the images. I prefer the pictures with little color compared to the color overlays. I also finished making the banner for my blog! Should be updated when I make this post.

I submit drafts for my first assignment today! I began by just playing around with color overlays, seeing how far I could take certain tints to make the images blend together as a background while still being able to see them clearly. Abriella suggested I use some gradients and make more single photo backgrounds, so I did that as well. Still waiting for more feedback on these but I think they look pretty neat:
