This week I have been working on the Principles and Elements assignment. Earlier this week, I had a few troubles with finding good examples for the principle or elements. After receiving feedback from Maddy, I finally understand more about how the design principles and elements work.

Later this week, I start working on the color theory assignment and will focus on working on the Color wheel by photoshop. I’m very excited about the materials that I have learned so far and hope that I will be able to apply them on the project.

Photo IDs

I have been helping Ingrid out and working on photo IDs this week and answering some questions about edits for the other STAs who are working on these. I edited and uploaded these this week. I noticed the more we leave it up to the client to submit the more often we need to send them emails to follow our guidelines and they don’t take to having to re-submit well. Hopefully, with COLA taking in-studio photos again a lot of the issues we saw this past week can be resolved.

 

PowerPoints and Backdrops for French Course

 

This past week I worked on about 4 powerpoints and 2 digital backdrops, I am going to work on one more before I close off the week as I write this on Friday. For the most part this week there have been minimal edits needed to be made for the PowerPoints, I’m trying to do my best to find as many “french qualities” in the photos as possible for the client.

 

This is my fourth week working as a STA and I have learnt a lot of new things.

For the past few days, I have been focusing on making my first WordPress sites including many customized posts.

Overall, I really enjoyed creating WordPress sites.

COLA Web Refresh has continued to be my primary focus. I, Adrian, Anya, Lorena, Chris, Michelle, and a handful of other people have been working hard to clean up sites auto-migrated to Pages and hand them off to the client. It’s a pretty enormous task, so I undertook additional hours for the remainder of my time here in order to help as best as I can. I finished cleaning up the site for Government yesterday, so pending any feedback or requested changes from Chris, Michelle will soon send it off to Sarah for review.

Next up is Latino Studies — a constellation of sites similar to the structure of Black Studies, with the trifecta of a department, center, and institute under its umbrella. I’ve finished cleaning up the “umbrella” site of Latino Studies, as well as the Latino Research Institute (LRI) sites, but that leaves MALS and CMAS.

French Course

 

This week I had time to also work on some French Course related tasks along with the Commencement Ceremony. I did two studio backdrop sets, Adrain completed another 2 sets this week as well. I also created a powerpoint for them using french artist only per their request and re-editied image sources for another powerpoint to be more french realted. Sheryl is working on the other presentation for this week, I’ve been helping her source material for it.
