UT Graduation, UX for Live-Streaming

UT Graduation, UX for Live-Streaming

The university is going to be having a live-stream graduation ceremony for the College of Liberal Arts. About two weeks ago we had a sprint collaboration on creating user personas for three kinds of people who will be accessing the site. Grandparents, parents, and extended family are the main users and I was given persona A, the grandparents, to work on. I’ve been preoccupied with the French course that I am making studio assets and web assets for but I found time today to work on polishing up user flows and creating sketches. I used lucid charts and miro to create the graphics you see below. I screenshotted Maddy’s UX annotations and used them to lay out the site like a jigsaw puzzle and for simplicity to make user flow as easy as possible.

Swedish Language Promo Designs Pt. 4

Swedish Language Promo Designs Pt. 4

Project: Promo Designs for Swedish Language Course
Client: Smyth Johansson
Completion Status: Done!
Staff Guidance: Suloni Robertson
STA Team Members: Cristina (yo)
Description/Plans: To create the design for the “Find Your Spark” campaign promoting the Fall 2022 Swedish Language course.

From the four different ornate matchbox sketches I drew up last time, the client ended up choosing the one shown in the image to the left. So I started drafting on Illustrator, and here are some pics of the progress…

The final look of the matchbox itself looks like this, after adding color, texture, and old time-y print effects:

After the final design was approved, I was then tasked to reformat it for different printing and online promo purposes. I’ve finalized all designs now, and this is what they ended up looking like:

Fun Fact: The Digital Screen Ad deliverable looks different because ads like these are only on the viewer’s screen for a few seconds. There’s no time for them to read all the info. So to maximize the effectiveness of this design, we decided to replace the traditional paragraph with a the course information.

April 6th Note:

We got a request today for a final promo item on this! It’s a sticker, and here’s how that looks like…

AFR 320c Landmark Map

AFR 320c Landmark Map

Welcome back from spring break! My first assignment is to create a landmark map for the AFR 320c course. My supervisors for this are Maddy Kaniewski and Elizabeth Camilletti.

Maddy and I decided for me to create this in Google Maps My Map creator. This would allow me to have direct access to the Google Maps locations, and the icons that they provide. It is also a suitable tool as you can embed it in other websites – in this case, we are embedding the map in Canvs.

My first draft looked like this in Canvas:

Both Elizabeth and Maddy felt the colors were too dark, and also wanted to see street names to better identify the locations. I played around with the templates offered by the software and came up with this:

The map is interactive, and when you click on an icon it shows you an image of the location as well as address if there is one:

You can also zoom in and out pretty much infinitely, making it easier to input quite a few landmarks:

This draft of the map was finalized, and will be used in the AFR 320c course!

Lingco Banner Template and First Drafts

A long time coming was getting these banners for Lingco started. I set up box folders for all of future banners made, created an Ai template and made it as simple in construction as possible, and made notes in the images for Yazz to update for the banners. After all that gets flushed out I can make basecamps for these and assign them out to the STAs.
