STA Presentation Lower Thirds

Project: Lower Thirds
Client: LAITS
Completion status: started/completed 4/12/23
Staff guidance: Maddy
STA team members: Adrian & Carrie
Description/plans: Maddy asked us to use Adrian’s AI template to create lower thirds for each of the STA/LAITS staff & their titles.

UTFC Image Sourcing/Rights

Project: UTFC Image Sourcing
Client: UTFC
Completion status: started 4/11/23
Staff guidance: Maddy & Valerie
STA team members: Adrian, Luisa, & Leilani
Description/plans: We were tasked with tracking down images for the French Textbook, some of which came from copyright-free sources, while others had more mysterious origins. We’re trying to keep our search at 5-10 minutes per photo since there is a lot of content that needs to be checked/updated. Thankfully most of the photos still had their original file name, and we were able to easily track them back to Unsplash or Pexels. The image search/sourcing will probably get harder once we go into nameless file territory…

In the meantime, we have a very detailed spreadsheet keeping track of any legal copyright info:

1.5 Personality Traits

 2.1 Colors and Common Objects

STA Presenter Intros

STA PRESENTATION IS ALMOST HERE!!!!

Project: STA Presenter Intros
Client: LAITS
Completion status: revisiting
Staff guidance: Maddy
Description/plans: The STA PResenter Intros are finished but need an “up next” image.

  • My initial idea was to have the “up next” on a scrap piece of paper to tie in with the theme. I added colored paper because at first, the plain white seemed too stark– but the text is also more legible on white. Maddy agreed that the white was more legible, but the color helps the hierarchy by putting the “up next” below the bio info.

edits:

  • I turned down the opacity of the color overlay on the scrap paper. This was to make the text slightly more legible. I just decided to use the LAITS colors so it all tied together.

Week 12

Project: Psych Lab Website Migration

Project: Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab Website

Client/Prof: Department of Psychology

Started on: March 29, 2023

Completion status: In progress

Staff guidance: Stacy Vlasits, Marianne

Description/plans: Move the content from the current existing lab website to an updated theme.

In this project I will help move the content from the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab websites to a new theme that Marianne created.

This week I am continuing on the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab website my main task as of the moment is to move all the images on the current website to the new template. Take a look at all these images https://labs.la.utexas.edu/church-lang/lab-events/. My current workflow it to save all these images to my STA folder in the LAITS server first and then place each one of them in the new template.

STA Presenter Intros

Project: STA Presenter Intros
Client: LAITS
Completion status: started 3/20/23, finished 4/6/23
Staff guidance: Maddy
STA team members: Lorena, Carrie, & Luisa
description/plans: I made a template for other STAs to help out with creating the STA Presenter Intros. I then delegated the STA intros to Lorena, Carrie, and Luisa to start working on them.

ALL OF THE INTROS ARE DONE! It was very intimidating to be in charge of an assignment like this, especially with my more experienced co-workers looking to me for clear instructions. In the end, it felt very rewarding though:)

more stickers!!! (I like the hotdog lego man)

UTFC Logo Design

Project: Connexions Francophones Logo
Notes: For this week I’ve been focusing on finalizing the logo for approval. Thanks to Maddy’s guidance and draft I was able to make a logo we both like and agree on. The color scheme was altered and a blue halo was further added to encase the logo.

UTFC Advertisements

Project: Connexions Francophones Ads
Due On: End of April
Notes: As UTFC inches closer to publication, I was tasked with developing advertisements for them to use in print and websites. I currently have a draft of a student with ideas flowing out of their head.

Week 11

Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab

Project: Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab Website

Client/Prof: Department of Psychology

Started on: March 29, 2023

Completion status: In progress

Staff guidance: Stacy Vlasits, Marianne

Description/plans: Move the content from the current existing lab website to an updated theme.

In this project I will help move the content from the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab websites to a new theme that Marianne created.

This is the theme of the current website and it has been the same for the past ten years! See, the LAITS logo used here is also old.

This is the new theme that Marianne created. It has the update Department of Psychology logo

As I was doing this migration I realized that the menu on the original website is different than the one for the sample website so I created more sections on the header in the template.

One styling issue that I am currently stuck on is whether to create a completely new section for some content that could be a subsection of an already existing section in the new template or just add the heading.

I tested to see how the look of having all the headings as they are in the original website would look like along with’s Marianne’s theme.
