Jazz Spotlight Songs Template

October 6, 2016 By Roopa Nagarajan

original-template

Original template that I need to rework. No photo/video of the professor + logo

First two quick mockups I made, based off the color style guide and palette from the edX video introduction.

Made the logo smaller and lengthened the text boxes to create a more cohesive layout.

Added the musicians in the background, increasing transparency to fade them into the background. Other objects also got a lowered opacity to show the musicians.

“Daytime” mockup with the almond color from the style guide faded out because of low opacity.

spotlight-nighttime-version-copy

“Nighttime” version of the same mockup, this time with blue off the style guide.

Finishing touches on the alignment and layout.

The client chose the ‘nighttime’ version, so I guided out the text.

Shown with guides and layers. Many of the instructions for objects were in the layer titles.

PowerPoint designs for Russian 406

October 2, 2016 By Valerie Lopez

Update as of Nov. 5th-

For my previous ornamental design, I simplified the look with the feedback from suloni and mike. I made a more wooden version of the design and put it in a template for testing. I also created another slide design with birds and had it on one side of the slide instead of a border.

I made more powerpoint designs with the common theme of anchors and the sea as suggested by mike. There are 5 different types of slides for different kinds of information. I tried to find patterns or designs that were repetitive and a bit less decorative than my previous ornamental designs but still border-like. A concern I had was if it kept to the russian theme. Mike, the project manager for this project, approved the designs with the wave border on the sides, the wave border on top, and the main wave pattern for the main page. I created a wooden version of this template for testing.

Powerpoint designs as of Oct.2nd

Faculty Profile: Professor Rabinowitz

September 27, 2016 By Ben Liu

I’ve been working on the profile for Professor Rabinowitz in our COLA database. He has a lot of content that he wants included so his page is turning out to be quite robust.
