Fun with CLIO
I did the CLIO training today! I had a hard time with the CSS earlier, but it came to me today. For my course content, I “taught” some basic Spanish concepts.
Lots of professors are requesting graphics this week because classes start on Wednesday (although they had all summer :/). We’re pretty swamped right now, and so I took over the studio portion of this from Poonum so she could work on something else. It was pretty simple to do, even though they ended up not needing the graphics.
After a few days of trial and error in After Effects, I finally got the hang of basic animation! I couldn’t have done it without some help, though. Angie drew me the scuba diver and Quinn found the old coral reef animation for the background! Here’s the final cut:
Organic Chemistry I requested an animated video introduction that the video department doesn’t have time for, so I get to experiment with it! I started using After Effects a few days ago and made this .gif for basic object movements.
The professor is a scuba diver with a love for clownfish, so I’m using some simply drawn Nemos in the animation. So far, the fish swim across the screen, then another fish swims away from a shark, and then more fish swim in front of a wooden sign that has the course title and professor’s name. I still have to do some corrections to make it smoother (and possibly add in a scuba diver that Angie drew!) and some other fixes to make the whole animation more coherent.
Of course, there’s the chance all of this will be scrapped because of the audio!
