What I’ve Been Up To Lately!

August 16, 2021 By Ingrid Alberding

Hello!

Last week, I worked on Cascade help requests and met with Dr. Barber to discuss changes to the British, Irish, and Empire Studies program site (formerly British Studies) and walk her through Cascade a bit.

I also worked on some small Cascade-related web support requests. No exciting screenshots for this, unfortunately. Lots of client communication and all that stuff.

Also did some photo IDs, shown below:

Also updated course graphics to reflect a change in instructor:

All that out of the way, here’s your weekly Pirate pic… my partner gave me a turntable setup for my birthday and Pirate seems to think it’s hers now

Photo IDs & Pirate

August 5, 2021 By Ingrid Alberding

This week, I worked on giving feedback for the typography KB, a bit on the animation script, and on photo IDs. Here are some of my IDs

For this next photo, the original was only from the neck up, so I had to compromise on the size.

Also, here is your weekly Pirate update (she’s a woman of letters):

Weekly Update & Musings

July 30, 2021 By Ingrid Alberding

This week was pretty chill. I worked on LPL, wrapped up the Web Accessibility Training, and worked a bit on photo IDs.

To elaborate: web accessibility training was originally Megan’s, but as she’s off for the summer it was passed to me. She did a great job, I just ended up making some small edits to the introduction to change the language and the table to be more straightforward. I also included some additional accessibility-related resources and a brief summary of the history of web accessibility legislation. Web accessibility is really interesting to me, and something I’m mildly passionate about as someone living with a disability. I hope the training can be of use to current and future STAs alike as we move toward a more barrier-free world for all. Sounds cheesy but I mean it 🙂

As for photo IDs, I did some color correcting and playing around with levels for the first two of these, and simply brightened the last one a bit.

Also, it’s Friday! So please have this picture of my roommate’s cat and the love of my life, Pirate

Grav

July 23, 2021 By Ingrid Alberding

This week, I worked a little bit after being gone for a week. Here are a few pics from my vacation 🙂

The Waterfront in Burlington, Vermont
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston

Once I got back, Thursday, I worked on LPL design, and a bit on KB.

On Friday, I got set up on Grav with Maddy’s help. I’m continuing to try to sort out an issue where custom CSS isn’t updating on my site. Per Maddy’s advice, I deleted and redownloaded MAMP, still running into the same thing though.. hoping to get this fixed by next week.

OCILL

July 9, 2021 By Ingrid Alberding

This week, I spent the majority of my work time on OCILL. I’m attaching a screenshot of some of my work.

I’m also going to be helping Abriella with a scanning project early next week.

Also! Going to Boston, Portland (ME), and Burlington next week, so stay tuned for some highlights on the blog in the coming weeks. :^)

So this week I only worked 8 hours, as I spent the majority of it on vacation. Here are a few highlights from the trip:

vegan donuts from golden wat noodle house in san antonio
(hanuman?) monkey sighting at cosmic cafe in dallas, tx
another (spider) monkey sighting in dallas’ african american museum

Work-wise, I worked some on KB edits and the animation script. We’re going with a short exploring the theme of dreams and working on different sequences drawing from the different people in the house. I am also about to meet with Cristina so I can start working on OCILL.
