Summer courses marketing

Summer Course Marketing

Freshman Postcard

This week, I’ve mainly been working on the postcard. We’ve finalized a layout and received new photos, so I’ve been editing the new images for use on the card. I still have to edit some of the colors and make a few font decisions, but here is the latest draft.

Screen Ad

I’ve also finalized the screen ads that will appear on TV screens in buildings all over campus.

Beyond Sweatt v Painter Presentation

Project: Beyond Sweatt v Painter Presentation
Due On: November 15th
Notes: This assignment consisted of organizing historical documents, letters, and almost all black-and-white photos of a cast of different characters in a story Oliva Mena (a Research Design Associate for the Contextualization and Commemoration Initiative) is telling.

The majority of this project consisted of making a friendly and appealing presentation to encourage viewer involvement, which turns to promote learning and comprehension. For example, specific document excerpts were highlighted or placed inside a text box to emphasize Olivia’s point and readability for users. Overall, this presentation was a great learning experience and something I’m grateful to be a part of. Lots of important and cool history to be uncovered throughout this PowerPoint!

Project: Tech STA Poster Design
Due On: November 10th
Notes: For this project, I was assigned to redesign the LAITS STA poster for other STA groups such as Classroom Support, Computer Support, Tech Integration, Systems Support, and COERLL. Thanks to Adrian for helping me edit the portraits for the shield shapes!

GOV 312L US National Security

GOV 312L US National Security

project: GOV312L animated Intro
Client /Prof: Jason Brownlee
completion status: Started Nov 8th
staff guidance: Maddy, Suloni
STA team members: N/A
description/plans:

Create an animated intro for this course that is a cohesive design with the other digital assets that are created for the course.

Steps:

Motion Array Template

Animation Proposal

Animate

Edit

To be completed: December 5th

Template:

To simplify the process for creating this project, I took out the time to locate an After Effects template to use for the intro instead of creating one from scratch. I came across the sight “Motion Array” that has a wide arrange of animated templates.

This is the current template we will use for this project:

https://motionarray.com/after-effects-templates/free-adobe-after-effects-templates-932/?listing_position=40&subcategories=free&page=2

Everything is broken down into their own compositions. From the individual images used, to the text and the different scenes. This keeps everything organized and easy to navigate.

All the different scenes are put together to create the final composition with the correct timing.

In each scene, it contains all the elements that make the animated intro. Everything is editable so that you can make adjustments if needed.

What is really good about Motion Array is that the template gives you a strong foundation that you can grow upon or keep as is. There are endless possibilities.

Animation Proposal:

Next, I have been working on creating the animation proposal for the different images we will use, the words that should be included, and the color alterations:

Week LII

Week LII

GOV 312L US National Security

Most of what I did with this last week was getting a liiiiittle carried away with some stylized Canvas banners of a newspaper and… an old TV news reel?

It turns out the professor wants something more contemporary in terms of photo subjects, and presumably style, so I’ll be updating the studio backdrops and thinking of new Canvas graphics.

Tech STA Poster

This took priority on Thurs/Fri, let it be noted that I was only cutting out the student photos and putting them in. ALL CREDIT FOR ACTUAL POSTER DESIGN GOES TO LEILANI

Beyond Sweatt & Painter Presentation

For this project, I assisted in re-formatting a slide presentation about the History of Race, Science, and Segregation at The University of Texas. We had the original slide deck and needed to add some visual aesthetics to the project. Here are a few slides I worked on:

GOV 336M Course Materials

Client /Prof: Rob Moser
Completion Status: Started on Nov 3
Staff Guidance: Suloni and Valerie, Maddy helped
Completed on: TBD

Last week I continued working on the GOV 336M: Government and Politics of Russia course materials. We ended up being on a deadline by the end of the week to get the lecture slides done, and Maddy stepped in to complete the slides where I left off.

Other than the lecture title slide and the main title slide, the other designs here are only drafts and have yet to have feedback on.

And then these are the backgrounds I created for lectures (the one with the person overlaid on it is just a reference model).
