Machine Learning & Ethics and Fairness

September 14, 2021 By De'sha Bass-McClellan

Machine Learning & Ethics and Fairness

project: Case Studies in Machine Learning
Client /Prof: Junfeng Jiao
completion status: Started September 14th 2021
staff guidance: Maddy
STA team members: JP
description/plans: Design course icon, prepare AI files for animation, and create graphics suite.
To be completed: September 24th (icon) October 15th (complete)

Notes:

The focus of this course is technology (specifically machine learning is used to achieve goals. For the course logo, I was thinking maybe a magnifier glass zooming in on something machine learning related (honestly, we might be able to even use the machine learning logo but let me double check that one). Similarly to the ethics course, we’re quite open to anything.

project: Ethics and Fairness in AI
Client /Prof: Ken Fleischmann
completion status: Started September 14th 2021
staff guidance: Maddy
STA team members: N/A
description/plans: Design course icon, prepare file for animation, animate intro and create graphics suite.
To be completed: October 15th (complete)

Notes:

The focus of the course is to look at the ethics surrounding AI from different perspectives (including gender, race, etc.). For the course logo, Colin was thinking of something along the lines of maybe the ethics scale. But we are super open to any other ideas.
