Mostly just worked on this this week! One thing I did was make the vector logo an actual transparent vector. The old version had a lot of opaque fills for the overlapping sections.
It took some creative use of the pathfinder tool to slice it up the right way.
Unfortunately the end result isn’t that impressive at a glance because the goal was to make it visually identical to the old version, but trust me that it took a lot of work.
Also, the animation. This went through a lot of iterations, most of which I didn’t export, but here’s the final (?) one.
Project: edX Online Courses
Client /Prof: Internal
Completion Status: Week of May 15
Staff Guidance: Maddy
Description: Resizing UT logo to match
After it was brought up that some of the UT logos in the intro sequences weren’t the same size, I was first assigned to resize the logo for the AI in Healthcare course. Then, I was tasked with going through all the intros and marking which had the correct sizing and which needed editing. From there, I’ve started going through the list of the resize ones and working on them bit by bit. While the actual resize is straightforward, fixing the broken links in the After Effects project takes the most amount of time. While all the links should be available to me, many files have changed names and even some layers have been deleted, so it takes an extra bit to get them fixed.
UTFC Greenscreen Edits
Project: Greenscreen Image Sourcing
Notes: A handful of STAs were tasked with finding royalty-free images and uploading them into a PowerPoint. As a team, our responsibility is to insert the correct copyright info into a Spreadsheet our Art Director, Maddy, had made. I’ve been going through many images that are suitable for the vocabulary words. Lately, I’ve been working on finding images for vocabulary words based on the city Marrakech, Morocco!
AI in Healthcare
Project: PowerPoint Title cards
Notes: This week I was asked to help create a ppt file in the title cards folder on box for the professor to make make title card slides. There’s a specific theme and style that must be formatted for the professors and course material. A previous STA had made all of the graphics so all I had to do was past an image into PowerPoint and upload.

Project: Course Graphic Update
Notes: This week I was asked to help update course graphics such as banners and backdrops in Canvas for the professor’s Canvas page. There’s a specific theme and style that must be formatted for the professors and course material. A previous STA had made all of the graphics so all I had to do was edit the name of the instructors in the graphics and upload.

This is my third week as a Web Development and Design STA, I worked on a few more trainings. I also worked alongside Thang on a web development project.
One of the trainings I completed was HTML & CSS 02: Basic Web Pages. I was able to learn some new things about the innerworkings of a website by creating my own webpage from scratch using HTML and CSS in Visual Studio Code. It took me some time to research how to adapt the tutorial’s instructions, for they were designed for Atom; yet, I enjoyed working on the assignment and am excited to learn more about the magic behind websites. I left some screenshots of my work below.

So shortly after last week’s meeting, Leilani and I drafted several more ideas. Drawing logos in sharpie is very fun.
This was the suite we sent to the clients:
Who liked 1 and 3 the most. So I started drafting 1. It started off a little skinny…
Maddy suggested thickening the dna strands. It was still not very well standardized though.
I ended up redoing all of it on a precise 50 x 50 grid.
Here’s how it looks in white!
Currently working on animation, which will be… interesting!
