Description: Adding bubbles and banners with “registration open” messaging

The final pre-roll edit consists of adding bubbles and banners with “registration open now” messaging so that they can run after April 3. I designed the little bubble that appears at the beginning and animated it. I’m also planning on reusing a banner asset from a previous pre-roll video to add into the outro, again advertising that registration is now open.

Maddy and I decided to move with the option 2 as everything is spread out and clear. I re-used the design of awards and wave pattern on the top/bottom banner.

This week, I helped input fabricated data to generate graphs for the faculty service survey. Stacy had set up a spreadsheet detailing which data to input and how to write it in properly, then a few of my fellow STAs and I filled out a UT Qualtrics form. The overall purpose of the survey is to measure faculty involvement in service positions, primarily within committees in their college, school, or unit.

$500 Intro for Pre-Roll Video

My quest to become an After Effects master continues! For this pre-roll, I was tasked to take the newly-edited pre-roll (see last week) and add an intro specifically marketing the $500 courses. I was given an AI file with graphics to work with by Maddy. From there, I embedded the proper vector graphics into After Effects. The main animation was fairly simple, just having the colors of the course titles switch through a few different iterations. The hardest part was actually splicing the $500-specific animation into the existing video without messing up the already-finished transitions and pans, then cutting the entire video down to 30 seconds. I learned a lot about workflows in After Effects, since I had to edit compositions embedded in other compositions and figure out how the edits would cascade throughout. I’m really proud of the end result, especially because I wrote the color animations from scratch, keyframes and all!
