Hello!

I’m getting closer & closer to wrapping up the Accessibility in Graphic + UX Design  KB write-up :~)

I’ve been taking a self-paced course w/ the Department of Homeland Security abt Section 508 materials that has definitely helped a lot!

PSY Digital Backdrop

January 28, 2022 By Abriella Corker

PSY Digital Backdrop

We are currently in the generating stage for digital backdrops for this course. We are looking for a textured background or a collage-style background. My co-workers are leaning towards collage-style backgrounds based on their comments in slack so I decided to do a textured background. We all have about an hour to make something so below are the drafts I made inspired by a laser-cut MRI scan of a brain.

Germanic Studies Flyer and Graphics Pt. 2

January 28, 2022 By Cristina Villarreal Núñez

Germanic Studies Flyer Pt.2

Here are some updated designs of the flyer that I have been working on, and the ones I showed Dr. Boas on our meeting. Since then, I’ve sent him a link to a box folder with these drafts so that his team can give me some feedback. Specially considering the final product for this design is not only going to be a printed flyer, but apparently also a digital flyer, as well as  a printed poster.

Option 1 – Title aligned to the right, No person,  in: Blue, Purple, & Red

Option 2 – Title aligned to the right, Yes person, in: Blue, Purple, & Red

Option 3 – Title aligned to the top, One with Berlin TV Tower, One with Person climbing (positioning tbh), and One with pointier, Alpine-looking mountain range behind

Option 3 (cont.)

– Requested version with a round sun and clouds

And a quick pitch for title placement that could work well with the posters, since those should have a designated spot for a QR code.

See you soon post

January 28, 2022 By De'sha Bass-McClellan

See you soon!

I know this is my last blog post for a while, and sadly, it is hard to say goodbye because I will miss my STA family. So instead, I will say see you soon.

When I first became an STA, I only had a little experience with Photoshop and an ambitious mindset to become an animator. I knew that becoming a STA was my next step in life. With this job, I have learned so many create programs, how to manage project efficiently, and how to be a leader in the workplace. I honestly wouldn’t have been able to obtain this internship without all the skills I have gained from this position.

I appreciate all the time I have spent working with all the STAs. I enjoyed all the moments working in person and all the collaborative projects. I also loved the support from the STA team when I was creating my own small business.

Thank you Valerie, Maddy, and Suloni for seeing the potential in me and allowing me to grow into the designer I am today. This job was a true blessing and I can’t wait to come back and share my experience with everyone.

TxPEP Closure

January 28, 2022 By De'sha Bass-McClellan

TxPEP Closure

Sadly, today was my last day  working on TxPEP. I really enjoyed working with Valerie, Abriella, and Sheryl on this project and I can’t wait to see how the final branding guide turns out!

For my final post for TxPEP, I was able to create some new possible designs for their logos.

The one on the top left, is my favorite… and will be shown to the client. I also create a version in the darker blue color.

Since today is my last day, all of the editable files are in my box folder for easy edits on these logo designs.
