More Podcast Updates
This podcast was assigned to me but only need transcriptions added to it. I went ahead and places in all except one because it was already missing from the site. I did make note of that in the Basecamp to-do however.
I’ve been working on some more CLIO fidgeting around, this time for the card headers. I figured out ways to make each card header unique, but I can only modify the text and not the actual design of the header itself. I also figured a (very janked) way to add a Noun Project Icon into the header. I tried adding icons and text inline at the same time but it seems like the inline display in CSS doesn’t appear how I wanted in CLIO.
Today I worked on finishing up my Photo IDs. Ran into some problems on Photoshop when it came to exporting the image as it turned out blurry when it should be clear. Worked with Estelle to figure out the problem and came to the conclusion that the template could be what is affecting it. I also worked on making Canvas buttons which were interesting to learn that that was how these were made as to when I had previously seen them before I was not in STA. Cool to see the behind the scenes.

Finished orientation yesterday and ran out of time to upload these babies, my bio and avatar (would like to tweak the avatar a bit when I get the chance but this will do for now)
Today, I began working on my first assignment (!!!) creating digital monitor backdrops. Here are the ones I’ve designed so far:
I feel like I’m working at a snail’s pace right now but hopefully will get into the swing of things soon. Until next week~~

Today I completed my basic photo ID training, which entailed editing and cropping photos for upload onto the COLA website. Here is my final work!

This training assignment helped improve my eye for portrait editing, and I had no issues uploading my edited images using the COLA web editor. I now feel much more confident continuing such projects in the future!

Suloni wanted me to try some new banner mockups using the same color treatments (blue-gray and off-white/eggshell) but with a few different tile and brick textures from the UT photography folder. These are the mockups I came up with, and I tried to position the images so they wouldn’t be cut off in a weird way with the professor standing in front of them. All I did for these is lower the opacity on the pictures, add a B&W adjustment and a brightness/contrast adjustment on top, then I added the blue and off-white color on top of that using the multiply blending mode.

Other than that, I’ve just been helping out with orientation tasks and continuing to work on my podcast (GOV310).
We also got a request to set up a new Cascade site for the Center on Aging and Population Sciences (CAPS), which I’ve been helping with. Basically I just created a new web presence in Cascade and followed the instructions to set up write and publishing permissions for all the users who need access to the site. Every website in Cascade should have a corresponding group, and anybody who’s added to that group automatically gets added to that site as an editor.
This is the URL that’s been set up (a lot still needs to be added to it, obviously):
