Kincaid Critters Redesign

September 26, 2016 By Aidan Kessler

For TBH I’ve been working on a redesign for the “Kincaid Critters” interactive. This is a kid’s section activity of the site which asks the student to match a textual description of each ancient animal to its corresponding image. I’ve been focusing on making it both more visually appealing and intuitive. (I still need to drop in Jun’s icon to let the viewer know immediately that this is interactive.)

Workday Illustrations

September 24, 2016 By Bethany Wong

Workday is a new software that will soon be used throughout UT’s faculty and staff. I am responsible for creating illustrations that will later be animated into an introduction video for its new users.

First thing to be illustrated was the tower:

Second was a reel-to-reel mainframe:

Card

September 24, 2016 By Subrat Mainali

This project was more of a learning experience. I had to create this card using HTML and CSS. Also, when you click on the card, a pop-up appears, and writing a string into that pop-up will change all the strings in the card that read “Connoly” to the pop-up string. JQuery was used to implement this functionality.

Creating a Webpage for Life & Letters Magazine

September 24, 2016 By Subrat Mainali

Life & Letters would like to change the current appearance of their site, which looks like this:

before

They want their site to appear more visual, so I am making it look better. So far, I have this: (The backend of the site is much harder to handle than the front-end.  The front-end is letting me learn a lot too, since I essentially had to create the page from a blank slate. Making the correct articles appear in correct pages and lining that up with Wordress’s CMS is frankly very challenging, because WordPress’s documentation is absolutely terrible when compared to Oracle’s Java APIs.)

Modified the side bar to make it horizontal instead of vertical, and changed the CSS of the side bar to make it appear right.

September 24, 2016 By Subrat Mainali

This was very challenging and interesting. I learned a lot about wordpress core files and the genesis framework(the page hierarchy and hooks) as I attempted to change the sidebar and its appearance.
