I did…….quite a bit. There were four pages on UTBox full of raw, unedited photos and I’ve gotten through about 2.5 pages. I think I’ll be done next shift!

COLA IDs

November 12, 2018 By Valerie Tran

So, Suloni talked to me at the beginning of my shift and told me that we had a LOT of COLA photo IDs to edit and process. She asked me if I would be able to help her out and so I did!

So many…..photo…IDs……

The photo editing process for these are a little different from the way we’ve been doing them in the past. These photos were 200×200 and I used a template for all the photo IDs so that they are all in one file. Because they are all in one file, I dedicated each layer to one client. The template was necessary because there were guidelines to guide where the client’s face/head should be for their ID. Other than that, the photo editing was pretty much the same. I brightened up some pictures using the “Highlights/Shadow”, the “Brightness/Contrast”, and the “Vibrance” tools.

The photos in the red boxes were the photos I edited during my shift. There were so many, but I’m making progress!

That’s all for this shift 🙂

DONE WIF SHELF!!!!

November 9, 2018 By Valerie Tran

I FINISHED TATE’S ASSIGNMENT!!!

Here’s a cute little shelfie 🙂

What I did this shift was color in all the ” primed” items with the Watercolor Big Round Brush! For the more detailed artwork on the labels, I switched over to the hard mechanical paint brush. I find that it’s better for making crisp logos for these kitchen items. I’m thinking about straightening out the little wheat stem so that it reads as wheat better. But, I think it works!

That’s all I did for this shift 🙂

More Shelf Clutter + Canvasser Training!

November 9, 2018 By Valerie Tran

Today I continued on Tate’s assignment!

Wow, look at dat clutter!

I did the same thing I did with the olive oil bottles and outlined the reference pictures of the items on the middle shelf. After doing that, I used a hard mechanical brush with no textures to color in the items with white as to prime them for the watercolor stage.

After I did that, I was trained by Nick on how to make interactives on Canvasser for the eAnthro V-Labs!

That’s all I got to today because I had a short shift.

Shelf Clutter!

November 9, 2018 By Valerie Tran

I worked on an assignment Tate gave me today. I followed the basic procedures for making these olive oil bottles.

So much olive oil!!! Why???

When I was given access to this file, there were reference pictures in place. I was assigned the middle shelf of the cafe kitchen. This shelf consisted of olive oil bottles, a container, a jar, some bags of coffee grounds, and a bag of flour.

I started off this assignment by making the line art using the reference pictures. After that, I colored in the bottles using a white color to prime the drawings for the watercolor textured brush for the color of the oil bottles. I used the color picker to create the color scheme of the bottles and used the “Watercolor Big Round” brush on a large setting to paint the bottles in. I find that using this brush with a large radius yields the best watercolor effects.

After painting the bottles and all its main components (the bottles, the lid, the backdrop of the bottle’s label), I switched from the watercolor brush to a hard mechanical brush to make the olive branch. This was a little difficult because when I initially started drawing this graphic it was hard to read and looked….a bit phallic. BUT!!! I think the final result reads pretty well, so yay!

Aaaaand, that’s basically what I did for this shift!
