Clio and Grid layouts

Canvasser Activity

I worked a lot making assets to my Canvasser activity. From tweaking the look of the Main Menu to coming up with pop-up windows and questions, this activity has definitely been evolving a lot. Here are some mockups I’ve come up with:

Grid Layouts

I’ve been exploring a couple of different grid arrangements for the digital backdrops of next semester. Here’s what I have so far:

Canvasser Activity

I started off my Canvasser activity planning to create an interactive map of penguins in the southern hemisphere in which you would click a point in the map and a pop-up would show the type of penguin that lived in that specific location. Here’s some previews I made:

Unfortunately, the activity wasn’t related to my CLIO website topic, so I came up with another idea. The player would be looking at a house located in Austin. They would be able to see the patterns of sunlight and shadows throughout the day, and make an assessment of which walls get the most sunlight. This would be the interface that prompts the start of the activity:

The orange buttons indicate a pop-up that shows each wall of the house:

Here is how each of the walls of the house look:

With a moveable measuring tape, the player will be able to measure windows and wall elements:

CANVAS Graphics

I made a variety of designs for the UT Search Committee Workshop’s Canvas website, here are some of the buttons I created for it:

CLIO Basic Training

I (almost) finished my basic training for my CLIO website. I’m feeling pretty good about it and Thuy’s been really helpful with helping out in the details.
Here are some snapshots of it:

PSD Flashcards Basic Training

I just started this basic training. My theme for these flashcards is travel (on an airplane) and I’ve chosen the following pictures for them:

Here’s how the first flashcard is looking so far:

Photo Editing

Here are three pictures from STAs that I edited the background off:

Clio and Canvas Items

CLIO Basic Training

This week I did a lot of CLIO work, setting up my virtual course and learning all of the different formattings for it. The topic I chose was “Energy Efficient Design in Buildings.” The color palette I chose uses a scale of greens and blues that make it feel modern and go along the sustainable motif.

I was able to do Content cards and Quiz cards:

Canvas Homepage Graphics

I also designed an array of options for UT Search Committee Workshop. I can’t put names on here but here are some Canvas call-out buttons:

DSMS Foundations of Linear Regression

Here’s a digital backdrop I made for this class, matching the format of the ones I’ve done previously:

CLIO Basic Training

This week I started creating learning modules for Canvas using CLIO. The topic I chose to teach is Energy Efficient Design in Buildings, and this is how it’s looking so far:

Basic Training: Illustrator

I spent part of my time this week completing the Illustrator basic training and giving a bit of feedback to Ingrid, who was completing as well. Here are some screenshots:

Basic Training: Online Course Graphics

I also spent some type completing the Styles A/B graphics while Abriella gave me feedback on it. This is the finished product for both styles:

Basic Training: Cascade Site – Accordion

I also completed an accordion code that I added to my website. It was a pretty straightforward task given that the KB tutorial was very clear and well written. Here’s the final result:

Basic Training: InDesign Spread

The next tutorial I did was an InDesign spread which was a really cool way to get to learn more about InDesign since I’ve never really known how to use it that well. This training is still in progress and I’m still getting feedback on it but here’s what I have so far:

DSMS Probability and Foundations Graphics

I was asked to design some more graphics for two edX courses, here are some examples:
