Week Sept 13 – Mostly Housekeeping Tasks

• Made a new version of AFR303 intro according to Suloni’s feedbacks:

• Photo IDs x12
• New STA banner voting form
• Updated my caricature (took my jacket off)

description/plans: Recreate the textbook map, make it more visually appealing and engaging.
Changes made since last post:

Color coded each item. Re-illustrated arrows (tippy ends). Added icons to represent each item

Now starts with an empty map, more contrast and less overwhelming.

Highlight each trade route throughout the slides.

Description/plans: Create a 5 to 6 second intro animation using a text clipping mask effect.

Megan sourced some usable photos from the AFR ppts and prepped the AE file (Thank you! I would not have been able to finish on time otherwise) Ean made the audio, then I fixed up some of the photos and mapped them to the audio. Here’s what we came up with:

Project: HIS314K – create a polished migration map

description/plans: recreate the migratory labor map(attached below) to allow powerpoint animation/interactivity and highlight different pathways.

• First, I converted the map into shapes in illustrator

• Then I started separating different pathways and experimented with different ways to highlight them  
• Next, I will export each pathways and start animating them in powerpoint.
