Banner Submission for STA Blog

Since the banner has been up for a while now I thought I would just update my blog with the edit I had done for my submission. there was going to be the caricatures of the STAs in each box with their names and then Maddy’s and Valerie’s cats on the bottom.

Chatbot Training Template for BC

Chatbot Training Template for BC

After traininng the STAs on Chatbot, I created a template for practice hands on training for them. Sheryl helped with finings and creating some example help requests. We didn’t have many to actually create real documentation on for the STAs just learning so we are opting for this method. Thuy helped to make the template for the email responses. Bridget came in and helped to train during the zoom meeting during a time out of her regular hours. So just a shout out to my fellow STAs for being so awesome at helping to put this all together for the newer STAs. Once they finish up a few more things I am going to assign these out to them.

Grid Test Studio Backdrops

Grid Test Studio Backdrops

We have been working on creating newer collage-style backgrounds for remote studio setups. We want something that has more depth and doesn’t distract too much from the instructors. Here are the edits I made based on the reference images I got to draw inspiration from.

Clio Training

Clio Training Pt. 1

Here is what I have so far. I decided to teach tennis.

Proposal:
1. I will be teaching how to play tennis
2. I can support my teaching through Clio with assignments and quizzes on the rules of tennis. For example, I could ask “What line do you serve from?” or “what are the basic tennis strokes?” I will also use modules to describe the motions and include video tutorials for extra support
3. I want it to look similar to this New Yorker cover, but also maybe like these other two with like more jarring colors

Worked on organizing the content, embedding videos, changing the colors and headings with the CSS editor, and adding pictures. Though understanding how to teach something is useful, I probably took too long on the content when this is really more about understanding the CSS. Will speed it up from now on!

COLA Profile Picture Initiative

September 29, 2020 By Poonum Mehta

Today I got asked to lead a team that will work on adding images for /everyone/ on the COLA website. I never realized how many people work for this orange cow school. I added a page on our spreadsheet to divvy out the assignments and created basecamp to-dos for everyone…I HOPEFULLY have it staggered out to where two people won’t ever be working on the same sheet at the same time but we’ll see!

Basecamp assignments that will slowly be assigned:

CLIO Assets

September 29, 2020 By Poonum Mehta

Today I finished up some of my assets for my CLIO game. The idea is that the player will drag and drop these produce into different baskets with labels like “biological fruit” “culinary vegetable” etc and the fruit will either look happy or sad when it gets dropped in 😀
