With many new Labs sites coming up and lots of people who are gonna be jumping on them that might not be familiar with WordPress, I’ve gone ahead and created some short online tutorials that’ll show anyone new to WordPress, the very basics of working with it. These aren’t any extensive PHP or how to CSS videos, more or less, how to create and work with content in Pages and Widget areas.

Project: LAB SITE: Professor Juan Dominguez

description:Gave an InDesign tutorial to Madeline. She now can use the event templates I provided to her earlier. Will upload the tutorial doc to the knowledge base.

project: lab site banner design

description:design a banner for the Neuroendocrinology lab site. I met with Andre to go over the proejct details and will start the first draft this week.

Project: LRC Collage Banner:

Completion Status: Almost Finished

Description: Making a collage banner out of the supplied images. These aren’t final, but they’re ideas.

Project: Gov310 Animation

Completion Status: ?

Description: Finding copyright-free images of cars from top-view (non-angled) is rare, so I went out and took these. Then again, taking pictures of cars from top-view (non-angled) is pretty much impossible without a crane or a helicopter, so I ended up with some dark shadows/bright highlights. Fortunately, Photoshop can rescue these, and they’re just going to be used as a modeling reference anyway.

Project: Texas Politics

Completion Status: May 2010, Ongoing

Description: Updating the old charts to interactive JS. Currently working on May 2010, progressing backward. Finished all of May 2010, currently on February 2010. Here’s an example:
