TXP PPTT

Redesigning TXP’s Presentation Template

I’m making a PPT! I ran into some issues with fonts, so I couldn’t use the same fonts I did for the Photohop social graphics. I basically just changed the slide dimensions to widescreen and changed the background and fonts!

TXP Event Graphics – Event 1: TLIS

TLIS — The Legislative Internship Seminar — educates new legislative staff and interns on the inner workings of the Capitol and how to talk to me, the news media (lol I’m taking a reporting state gov class right now). The Texas Politics Project organizes the multi-day event in conjunction with Moody’s Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life.

TXP

More Texas Politics!

I got my TXP social graphic templates approved yesterday, almost right on time! There’s still a lot of work to do for Texas Politics, but I’m looking forward to it. I’m taking a class on reporting on the state government (I’m writing a story on HB 160 as I write), so this project has been a lot of fun for me.

Texas Politics Progress

Texas Politics Progress

I’m making a lot of — you guessed it — progress with the graphics for the TXP’s speaker series graphic suite! The Texas Politics Project’s goal is to engage and educate regular Texans in state politics, beyond the occasional scandal in the press. They hold an annual Speaker Series to facilitate this. For TXP, I used colors scraped from their site and logo and fonts that were academic and professional, yet crisp. If you’re wondering, the cowboy in the background isn’t anyone in particular, just a Texas Ranger statue.

Updates

January 5, 2021 By Megan Fletcher

What I’ve been up to recently

I’ve been busy this week! Yesterday, I updated the Diversity & Inclusion CLIO course’s flip cards to have “headlines” on the answers.

I also got my anti-racism resources banner approved for the history department! You can see it in a post below. Other than that, I’ve been working with Ingrid and Cristina to copy over content from old PowerPoints for HIS 315K. I learned some new things about the Puritans in the process! I also made an intro slide for CH 302C Principles of Chemistry II for an old professor of mine, Dr. Biberdorf (she was great in ChemBridge!) so that the audio department can work with it.

What a week!

D&I training

Diversity & Inclusion CLIO training

Thuy, De’sha, and I have been working on a CLIO course for the university’s diversity and inclusion training. I’ve been putting in the content for page 3, Legal Requirements, this week. I’ve put the CSS flip cards with each question, answer, and audio embed into a CSS flex box layout, so it’ll be responsive to smaller screens — like cell phones — and larger screens, like iMacs.
