Part 1 Character Design

I have never done character design and so far it has been an enjoyable experience it is more freeform art-making which I enjoy doing. I can see how learning the elements of character design and the process would be beneficial in case we were to make another type of animated cartoon like for the Russian course before I started working here.

These were my three color palettes:

This is the draft of creating the outline:

Pixel Art Ai

PIXEL ART Ai

I tried out the pixel art training Bridget made in the KB. I haven’t done this before in Ai and it was pretty simple and a good learning experience. I’m glad that we are getting more Ai trainings in the Kb. I feel like that is my weakest point with graphic design software and trainings such as these are very helpful to me. As usual, I did a beetle!

InDesign Training

InDesign Training

This is the layout design I went with given the text and images that were available in the training. I wanted something more straight forward that felt like a book spread more than those narrow columns. Megan suggested I adjust the tracking and leading to fill up the text to the bottom of the third page which was a great suggestion. I didn’t compromise the appearance of my text to achieve that end, so it was a beneficial trick. I hardly ever use this application, so I’m really thrilled I was given the opportunity to give it a try here at work.

Here are updated images of two columns:

UX FIGMA Training

November 11, 2020 By Abriella Corker

UX FIGMA Basic Training

I started out the training picking the option of creating a portfolio over a floral shop website. I used procreate to draw out my wireframe sketch. I used red to label elements and show connections between frames.

I went through the basic instructions on FIGMA to get familiar with the platform and how to wireframe and prototype. From there I started working on creating the template and picking a color scheme.

This is how it ended up looking with all the content laid out in it. A hero image will flip through different pictures when tapped. When the user clicks one of the three projects on the main pages a window will overlay on top so they can see a description and more images of the project. I couldn’t get the navigation elements to do the commands I want because FIGMA isn’t equipped for the edit I want so I placed in the elements but they aren’t functional.

Thuy and I will walk through and test out each other’s templates next and provide feedback.

KB Studio Background Edits

KB Studio Background Edits

I’ve been working with Miguel and Maddy trying to crack the coloring code issues with our digital edits and how they display in the studios. We got edits back on studio 2 and 10 with the day lights so I wrote up photoshop editing adjustments to make for those studios so far. Then I will add the Studio 6 ones. It looks like a lot but the edits are very minimal I just needed to present a lot of backdrop comparisons to put the edits in context. We started presenting this training in the daily meetings as well to get the STAs familiar with the process before they start working on them.
