College of Liberal Arts (COLA) initiative banners

August 5, 2015 By Erica Ndubueze

The following mockups show the banners in context of how they will look COLA page design including the text overlay. Unfortunately all of the pages all have the “Center for Women and Gender Studies” written in the top left corner so the banners are not completely in context of how their own pages will look like. But all of the pages will have the same orange text, page layout, and the name of the department or program on the top left with their logo on the top left.

COLA Department Banners

August 3, 2015 By Erica Ndubueze

These are the banners that will serve almost as cover pages for each of the departments within the College of Liberal Arts. On some banners the image is pushed to the left to leave room for additional content like a headline of what is going on in the department on the side. My task was to put the banners together using existing images that were already on their websites. Some of the department have different images. THe banners needed to have as little or better no text on it. Some departments have text and those images might be replaced with another image with less text but it will depend on what each department has or wants.

Linguistic Department. This banner is a cleaned up version of what was there before which showed a lady doing sign language. But her arms were duplicated to show the different sign words. The arms made her resemble a centipede and that didn’t look good so I had to remove her and the gold gradient circles that are now turquoise.

College of Liberal Arts (COLA) centers banners

August 3, 2015 By Erica Ndubueze

These are the departmental banners. Each banner will have a text overlay. The text on the images serve as dummy text. Every center banner is not going to have a headline about mobile phone traffic growth. Although the text overlay will be implemented with HTML, the images show what each banner will look like with the overlay. Note that the text overlay will not only appear from the right but it could also appear from the left.

Cultural Studies Banner. Not the most eye pleasing but my job was to use existing banner images (either on the center’s web page or somewhere else) and use those images to organize and put the banner together.
