FUN ART THINGS

 

I decided to show some stuff I have been working on for class outside of work. For my advance print class I made this huge textile and added a lot of embellishments to it.  The project took hours to do.

 

I now have a final project that is supposed to be on display in a show in the art building and honestly I have no idea what to make after this last one I did. Last night I scanned my face to try to inspire some ideas but I got nothing that I feel like will get me a good grade in class because sadly that’s what it’s about.

 

Also Maddy and I went to the letterpress event and the opening to Austin Design Week it was super fun and great and I got to walk away with a print!

 

 

French Textbook Icons

I recently got assigned to this French textbook project after Poonum left the student design program after graduating. Currently we are working on getting icons created for the different components and activities within the online textbook. Today we had our meeting to flush out the details on what we will do for iconography. I sent over some icon style examples I found off the internet and so far Pat and Chad are liking the solid color with line work icons. From there I started doing some rough sketches of what these icon images could be. There is a lot more to do but I started with the easiest most universal images first.

Brochure Template Assets

I created the brochures template guidelines for different services we offer here at LAITS. These are “prompts” for the training on publication design – brochures. My post before shows the first one I made. Before it did not have a theme or assets to use so I made my own and then updated the training to have different options.

Intermediate Training: Brochures

For this training we learn how to make a brochure as part of the promotional material we create for departments and professors. This training didn’t have any specific assets to use for the STA so I decided we could create different brochures for advertising different LAITS departments. I made one for the design team and I am going to update the KB with different folders for each team as well as a 3D mockup template. Here is how they turned out:

Below are 3 graphs I have worked on this week. Some of what is presented here has undergone slight detail edits already but this are closest to the final versions. The last one I made in 30 mins before my shift ended because there needed to be a quick turn around. I enjoy recreating these in our style guides.
