LAITS Student Technology Assistants collaborate with the College of Liberal Arts faculty and administration by re-imagining their instructional and promotional projects with a creative use of video, audio, web and graphic design. STAs learn technical skills on the job with LAITS development studio staff. They build presentations, produce audio/visual works, scan text documents & perform image correction. STAs are instrumental in helping COLA faculty realize their vision for instructional technology projects used to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

Theater Makers Update
After receiving feedback on the mock up of the actress for theater makers, we went and made a mock-up of how the set/stage will look
This is the original stage image we used to create the mock-up:
I began with an outline the original stage image in illustrator:
I also outlined the figures in illustrator and placed them in scene:
Once we created all the outlines, I placed the full color figures in the theater:
Then added labels and the audience members:
And this is the final we sent to the clients:
Here is the kitchen background that I’ve added the counter, drawing, and new fridge to. This will be the background of a video for the RUS class.
Here is the image I created for the fridge in the Kitchen area for the RUS videos. It’s meant to look like a child’s drawing of a few stick figures and an airplane. I copied the assets I already had from Adobe Animate and put them into Photoshop with the paper texture and added a filter to match the cutout style of the rest of the background.
LRC Trifold Draft Update
The latest draft of the LRC trifold is shown below. Most notably, I added a gradient to the artwork so that the image faded into the background and reformatted/added a graphical element to the “Each lesson includes” list. After receiving critique from Suloni and Bethany, I updated the LRC trifold to include orange in the color scheme and small formatting details. I also tried using a peachy hue in place of the grey, though Suloni and I agreed that the grey was better fit (the peach version can be viewed below). Currently awaiting feedback.
