LAITS Student Technology Assistants collaborate with the College of Liberal Arts faculty and administration by re-imagining their instructional and promotional projects with a creative use of video, audio, web and graphic design. STAs learn technical skills on the job with LAITS development studio staff. They build presentations, produce audio/visual works, scan text documents & perform image correction. STAs are instrumental in helping COLA faculty realize their vision for instructional technology projects used to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
Recently, the STA’s have been working with Patricia a lot for TD301 and PSY364 projects, including PowerPoint reformatting and animations. I, in particular, made ppt backgrounds for both title and content slides for TD301 today:
I then used the title slide to make reoccurring slides for the “Pre-Loaded PPT presentation”:
Here is the dog “Ruta” for the RUS illustrations. I did three of these based off the ones that were already done by Valerie.
A few of us have been assigned a scanning project for Dr. Edlund-Berry – the Morgantina Kyllingstad archive is extremely cool and delicate. So far, Bethany and I have been scanning the photo slides and are almost done with them. I’ve spent about 2.5hrs total scanning these and also color correcting the images for a much better version. Here are some of the examples:
I’ve also been given a lot of projects for PSY364 and TD301 and have been working with Patricia. One of them was to design a graphic for Let’s Jump Right In–unfortunately, the animation I’ve created needed a lot of adjustments, but thankfully Jac has been able to finish them while I was gone for the week.

For the past week, I have been working on materials for the PSY364 online course–creating a title card, canvas graphics, and a short animation as well as editing animation graphics. Below are a few examples of my work.
