STA Blog

LAITS Student Technology Assistants collaborate with the College of Liberal Arts faculty and administration by re-imagining their instructional and promotional projects with a creative use of video, audio, web and graphic design. STAs learn technical skills on the job with LAITS development studio staff. They build presentations, produce audio/visual works, scan text documents & perform image correction. STAs are instrumental in helping COLA faculty realize their vision for instructional technology projects used to enhance the teaching and learning experience.

The STA page under LAITS was a bit outdated so I was tasked with updating and inserting testimonials onto the page. Here’s a mockup of what the completed page should look like that was done in Photoshop.

After Suloni approved the changes, I started making actual edits to the webpage through Cascade. Most of it was done pretty quickly although we did have to set up a YouTube page to upload the testimonials to.

Once the STA page was done, we also decided to update the walk-page since the services we offer changed a bit. Here’s the mockup of the page.

This page was a bit more complicated due to the number of sections.

PowerPoint formatting

To assist in preparing materials for a Russian class, we were given PowerPoints to reformat. Mainly backgrounds and animations had to be added, along with making sure all the colored text was uniform.
