I finally began working on the Cascade tutorial project. So far I have a really short bio, a new color scheme mostly worked out, a new title (my name), and the banner with all of the Ai portraits in it.

I finally settled on a simple background, after trying four or five story-oriented backgrounds. The cool ones were just looking a little too goofy.

Uncanny Drupal – Active – Total hours: 12+ hrs

• Completed theming! 90% of content is easily editable by client. Only two content types: Day and Announcements/holiday
• Created a really nifty schedule

This tutorial was particularly hard for me. I had done vector art before so I thought that it would be easy for me, but it had been a while and I had lost the touch for it. I spent a lot of time being frustrated by details and trying to find my style again. Finally I got the hang of it and started making progress.

The skin is softer with round shapes and smoother texture and the hair is more piecy and has a more linear texture.

As others have mentioned the shirt is a little flat and I need to work on the background but I am confident that I can improve that in the near future. Here is my finished project, for now. 🙂
