Maddy assigned me this banner for the InDesign Basic Training. I had some ideas after doing some layout research and here’s my first draft. I’m still waiting for Maddy’s feedback so there might be some updates to this banner!

We both agree that we like the version with the straight-aligned texture more since it contrast with the rotated magazines. But I wasn’t sure if the image is copyright-free, so I drew up the texture on my own, and here’s the final banner.
I had a meeting with Stacy and the client yesterday to talk about some specific functionalities as well as responsiveness designs. We’ve settled on some more iterations on how another call-out button would look (Advanced Tickets – Buy Now). Also because the current jumbotron isn’t a standard video aspect ratio, it would be a challenge for the content creator to find an appropriate video. Therefore I created some more Web-Tablet-Mobile view drafts of a non-standard ratio vs. a standard ratio. Here they are.

I’ve been working on some more CLIO fidgeting around, this time for the card headers. I figured out ways to make each card header unique, but I can only modify the text and not the actual design of the header itself. I also figured a (very janked) way to add a Noun Project Icon into the header. I tried adding icons and text inline at the same time but it seems like the inline display in CSS doesn’t appear how I wanted in CLIO.
I’ve been tasked with guiding Abriella and other STAs to work on the Clio Module Formatting Training. I’ve done quite a bit for the Enhancing French Skills Clio course but I realized there are many other stuff I haven’t worked on. Abriella got started recently and found out that many of the instructions are not yet on the KB, so I’ve taken some time to figure out how to do each of the point required and wrote up some instructions for it. Here’s my progress so far (just some snippets of the long instructions I wrote).
I’ve been working on the mockups for the Texas Beyond History (TBH) website. Stacy had me mockup the gallery page and a content page. The page is pretty static and text-heavy, so it’s not too design-heavy. Here are the drafts I’ve made that will probably be sent out to the client soon.
