Finished up CLIO part II last week but was having some trouble uploading pics so here we go.

For this portion of the training I changed the nav bar and one of my card headers to images, adding a color overlay to the navbar using the CSS editor.

 

I also used the CSS editor to add a hover feature on a table, seen here (the row turns gray when you place your cursor over it).

 

Finally, I edited content card HTMLs to create an image carousel and wrap text around an image.

This training was really fun! I really feel like I’m learning how to properly use HTML and CSS. Thuy also did a really amazing job explaining how the various lines of code functioned so rather than just copying and pasting things, I was more comfortable typing things in myself. Looking forward to parts three and four <3

Back at it with CLIO! I honestly love this training so far I feel like I am actually coding!! Today I declared colors using their hex codes which was super neat; this was the first time I actually wrote down and edited code without copying and pasting and everything worked 😀 I started reading through an explanation of adjusting image coding which I’m a little confused about, mainly because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be editing the code in the module CSS editor or on the individual card (which I think is HTML? lol) Going to spend the evening thinking about that and then see if I come up with an answer tomorrow.

 

The next two weeks I’ll be working on setting up a part II training for inDesign to later be added on the KB. I’m excited! Currently going through my old yearbook and some other inDesign tutorials online to see what else should be added. I think the main things are to sort of explain font pairing, degrees of separation, and photo crediting in print formats. Megan will probably have some more input on this so I look forward to hearing from her. In the mean time enjoy the only picture of myself in my high school yearbook, of which I was editor-in-chief.

Last week was a bit hectic, I worked a bit on developing an animated stinger that eventually the professor decided he no longer needed. I also worked on edX a bit to upload links for a course’s online modules. It was cool to use edX for the first time but also a pretty quick assignment; I’m hoping I get to spend some more time on there to really see how things work. No fun images to report sadly!
