Animation Assets

RUS412K Animation Assets

This week I worked more on the animation assets for Tate. I used textured brush for all the outlines, and clean, flat colors. The bunny is the most time consuming asset I’ve been assigned so far, because I have to separate all of the limbs, ears, and eyes as different symbols, as well as keeping all the layers instinct. Through working on the assets, I/m definitely more comfortable with Adobe Animate now. Thank you Tate for giving me cute assets to work on such as bunnies and bubbles hehehe…

UT Poll

UT Poll

I played around with idea of a pie chart and a timer around the UT tower logo, and came up with a 3D version of the pie chart that Marla is really interested in. I’ll continue working on the design and incorporate a bar graph instead of a tower into it.

RUS412K Illustration

I got a new illustration assignment from Kathy, and it’s a super cute setting with Oleg, Polina, and Grigorij all painting in a museum. I think it would be very cute if Oleg just throws his arms and legs up in the air in joy as Polina is turned around to look and Oleg’s painting, but I’m not quite sure what I want to do with Grigorij yet.

I misread the description of the illustration, and put the wrong parent in before. I tried to give everyone a different art style, with Tatsija’s being clearly more professional.

RUS412K Animation Assets

This week I worked on different assets for the RUS412K animation, such as the open and closed signs, and several boxes. I definitely became more comfortable with Adobe Animate through these assignments, and I now can work at a much faster phase in Animate than before.

RUS412K Illustrations

This week I worked on the Lecture hall background for Tate and my first illustration assignment for Kathy! I used textured ink pen to do the outlines, and different watercolor texture brushes for coloring. I tried to keep each color within one single stroke, and applied different pen pressure in different areas to have different shades of the same color.

For Kathy’s illustration, I want Polina and Oleg and to be very cute and childlike as they play with the stethoscopes to listen to each other’s heart. I decided to let Polina kneel on her bed in a very carefree manner, and hold up the stethoscope to her own heart for Oleg as well because his arms are too short! I imagine a hedgehog must be new to the concept of heartbeats, so I gave him a surprised expression. Originally I want Polina to have a wide smile, but now I want to change it to a more surprised expression like Oleg’s after Suloni’s suggestion.

Comparative Literature Newsletter

Comparative Literature Newsletter

Last week I helped Anne Bormann with her Comparative Literature Newsletter. She had some troubles with the hyperlinks and image sources in InDesign, but we were able to resolve all of her inquiries. I also help her crop out some higher resolution images to put into the newsletter, and I am going to give her some feedback soon on her finalized version of her work.
