CASCADE DESIGN BEST PRACTICES 

This is my first draft of a visually appealing Cascade site. Suloni suggested making the length of the body short so that I will be able to screenshot it and label it easily without it being so long. Right now it is very generic but the next draft will include a more specific theme or topic. The four colors of the external buttons a the bottom are going to inform the look of the page since they can’t be changed in color. To make the body shorter, I will remove the orange pull-quote, right-justified image, and youtube video since it is in the right-sidebar already.

Creating COLA Best Practices for Page Formatting

Suloni wanted me to create a test page where I create different ways to easily visually enhance test heavy body content to make some COLA sites more appealing. Here are some of the elements I have drafted up. I am still trying to figure out some types of different formatting.

V-LAB LOGO DRAFTS

I mocked up a few new logos for the V-Labs site. Suloni gave me guidance on how they should look and edits to make as I was going through this. I think all three of them came out nice enough for the site. They all seem to fit tightly with the theme and look clean on the page. Now we just wait to see what the client thinks.

KB Banner Edits for Canvasser Game

Bridget has been writing up instructions for how to create a game on canvasser that will be used as part of the CLIO training. She asked if I could help come up with some banners so these are what I made. I ended up going with the second option as a GIF since the text was easier to read on that one. Suloni came back with feedback that this wont really be a retro looking game and too make the banner more abstract.

PSD PHOTOSHOP COLOR CORRECTION 

I wrote out new instructions for our psd photoshop color correction tutorial that needed updating. The old one was from a very old version of photoshop. This one has new screenshots, mini practices, is on the KB, and updated instructions. Hopefully, this will be helpful for new hires who need to photo edit COLA IDs or a professor’s slides. Now I need to make a banner for it!

UPDATING CANVAS COURSE GRAPHICS

The names of the instructors teaching this course has changed. So I went ahead and switches out the names.  The first image shows to two lines but I changed that to fit all on one line with a smaller font. Then I had to rename the .ppt jpegs for the title slides.
