description: sketching, refining vector character illustration; practise of the pen tool / drawing / sketching; study of shadows, highlights, flat-colour (no gradient) colour palettes, asymmetry / symmetry, and body proportions; developing personal design style of character
currently: touching up fine details, such as creases and textures; fixed the alignment of the knees (not fixed in below image)
older colour version (below left): changes in-between the original colour version and above include hair length, body proportions (less-exaggerated length of neck & legs), ears, nose, clothing creases, hands, shoes, tie pattern, shadows / highlights (and other perspective / 3d visual hints such as the folding of the jacket, inner jacket colour)
sketch (below right): rough idea; visually inspired by all of the manga I read (special shout-out to Ao no Excorcist); typical manga-style spiky / messy hair, casual jacket with tie, not too stiff / formal, overall very slim and tall
