STA Orientation

August 20, 2019 By Thuy H Nguyen

Hi,

Today is my first day as a STA as well as the STA Orientation day. These are the things that we’ve gone through so far.

Learned how to clock-in/out

Completed our I-9 paperwork

Introduced ourselves to the team (everyone is very nice and willing to help 🙂 )

Read out loud the STA Handbook and had any of our questions addressed

Had Basecamp, Workday, Slack, and Harvest set up

Updating our Basecamp avatar (mine’s a corgi)

Illustrate 5 points from the STA Handbook to a PowerPoint slides deck

Making this blog post

Things that I will be working on after completing this blog post.

Design my STA blog banner

Go through some STA basic training

I’ve been wanting to get more hands-on on design, so I’m super excited to see how I can grow as an STA. In addition, I’m certain that with the help from the wonderful and friendly STA team (which each of them having a unique set of skills and assets), I will be able to learn tremendously (technically and as a person 🙂 ). I’m sure there will be obstacles and times that I will be frustrated over projects or my abilities, but in the end they’ll all be challenges to extend my capacity.

I wanted to give a big thank you to Suloni and the Design STA team for giving me a wonderful introductory experience so far!

Thank you for reading and please follow my STA journey through this blog if you’d like :). Cheers!
