Last day at LAITS!

I’ve been an STA at LAITS for around 6 months and it has been a great experience so far! Suloni, thank you for being such an amazing supervisor. I really enjoyed working here and will miss working with all the super talented STAs!

I was constantly amazed by the design skills of the STAs & the artwork created here. I learned a lot about Web Design, Responsive CSS, WordPress & Photoshop during my time at LAITS. I was a newbie to Photoshop when I joined here but I was quite surprised at the plant illustrations that I could create – Thank you Valerie for answering all my questions related to Photoshop so patiently!

I think the STA program is a wonderful place to learn new skills and apply them and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. Thank you everyone for making my time here so fun and memorable!

I’ve been looking for funding opportunities so I will be moving on to a Teaching Assistant role for McCombs School of Business for a Data Management course. I will miss being an STA! This is my first job in this country after getting a work permit so I will always cherish it. Cheers to all the STAs and wish you all the best for your future endeavors at LAITS and beyond. Thank you!

I started updating the pull quotes KB to add more detailed instructions. This is a work in progress and I will add more instructions to make it as clear as possible for STAs who are new to HTML/CSS.

UWC website updates

Last week and this week, I’ve continued to work on UWC along with RIM Cascade site set-up and Pull Quotes KB in between.

I updated the statistics on the uwc home page and added an announcement section, and worked on the graduate and writing appointments page. I’ve moved the draft versions to the original pages.

New Cascade site set-up for RIM

I worked on setting up a new Cascade Site for Race, Indigeneity, & Migration (RIM). The lock-up and logo for this site are yet to be finalized so I will be uploading them to the site once they are ready.

UWC Home page

I am working on the home page design on WordPress for UWC. After my meeting with Stacy and the client, I have started working on creating an initial draft version of the page in WordPress. This is still a work in progress and needs more edits. In addition to the home page, I will need to work on an additional links section and alerts section that needs to appear across all the pages.
