UTFC Logo Design 

Project: Connexions Francophones Logo
Notes: Lately I’ve been exploring various brushes through illustrator for the UTFC logo. This time around for the logo I was trying to add a textured look to the design on procreate. I’m using the Dry Ink brush on Procreate, which is what a previous STA used to create the other icons for UTFC. First, I made a vectorized design in Adobe Illustrator with a textured edge. Then I imported it into Procreate and used the Dry Ink brush over the selected area of the logo. So far it’s still a work in process but still a good direction!

STA Poster 

Project: Spring 2023 STA Presentation Poster
Notes: This week, I’ve been focusing on polishing up the STA presentation poster. I finally got to a good point where I can send off the final export! Luckily, fellow STA Lorena helped make some minor tweaks and it’s looking great! I’m excited for others to see the poster and all of the hard work everyone has contributed to this poster assignment!

Week 3/2 – 3/8

UTFC Logo Design 

Project: Connexions Francophones Logo
Notes: This time around for the UTFC logo I was trying to add a textured look to the design on procreate. I’m using the Dry Ink brush on Procreate, which is what a previous STA used to create the other icons for UTFC. In my opinion, I think it contains too much detail within the texture. I could opt for a solid line with a textured stroke but I’m also worried that it would look blurry rather than textured if the logo size was altered.

UTFC Management

Notes: I’ve been mainly focusing on UTFC management and getting the hang of assigning STAs tasks for the UTFC textbook. Here’s a progress checker I made to stay organized on what’s finished and what’s not.

Project: Spring 2023 STA Presentation Poster
Due On: ???
Notes: This week, I’ve been focusing on finishing the STA presentation poster. Thanks to everyone’s help with photo editing I have been able to insert all of the STA photos accordingly. I’m now adding little knick-knack stickers of what’s representative of each team and polishing the overall poster!

Notes: I tweaked this project a bit by adjusting the placement of the dots on the logo and experimenting with typefaces. I haven’t gotten the chance to focus on this project as much but I’m sure I’ll finish soon!

Notes: This week, I rendered the backdrop to the STA poster a bit more. I had other STAs help with cutting out photos of the STAs so many thanks to everyone who helped! I’m currently waiting for some other design requests for this poster to come through so in the meantime I’ve been working on other assignments.

UTFC Logo Design 

Project: Connexions Francophones Logo
Notes: For this new project, I was assigned with developing keywords/symbols and sketches for the French Online Textbook logo. The main goal of mine for this logo design is to create something timeless, advertiseable, and something like a trademark. I proceeded further by making logo mockups of how I envisioned the colors playing out from the initial drawing. I made a mockup of a business card and two website variations, and for the type, I used DIN Condensed Bold and a gradient of blues to overlay.

Notes: This week, I made some rough renders from my previous sketch. I have this brush & texture set on my iPad that I think really ties into the DIY theme! Maddy, my art director, also helped with some rendering such as the title for the poster and the addition of some items. Here are a couple of the mockups.

 

GSD Course Promo Flyers

Notes: Germanic studies have requested a batch of course posters, so we’re using templates. Some of these have photo assets provided and we choose 1-2 that look good together, collage if necessary but keep it simple. If assets aren’t provided, find something relevant to the course. Adrian, a fellow STA, has been providing feedback and assigning these flyers.

Notes: For this new project, I was assigned with developing keywords/symbols and sketches for the French Online Textbook logo. The main goal of mine for this logo design is to create something timeless, advertiseable, and something like a trademark. It’s not supposed to relate to France itself but to the French language. Overall, it’s a fun challenge I’m having fun exploring.
