More IFML

April 28, 2021 By Angie Huang

Endless Animations

More drafts for IFML as aspected, but also an update on exporting and final assets. Today I looked into plugin extensions for AE. I landed on two plugins, BodyMovin and Lottiefiles, which both can create .JSON files for the final IFML website. JSON files (and .LOTTIE files, a lightweight version of a JSON file, favored for app graphics) will be ideal for this project for their file size, quality, and transparency. Animation has really been the bread and butter of my work lately.

A Continuation of After Effects

April 1, 2021 By Angie Huang

A Continuation of After Effects

I have not been working on anything new, but I did finish assets for the AfterEffects training in development. This is the banner that STAs will animate to learn about the puppet tool 🙂

I have also been completing Photo ID requests and am going to be writing documentation (summaries) for some of my old projects as I don’t have anything assigned at the moment. I can’t wait to update here when I have assignments to show!

After Effects, AMS Powerpoints

March 24, 2021 By Angie Huang

After Effects, AMS Powerpoints

Recently I have been developing the second AfterEffects training for the KB. Specifically, I have been reworking an old, online class intro (AET304) to be the template for the training assignment. STAs will be taking old AE files and reworking them, as well as taking still assets from AI to make their very own motion graphic.

I have also continued on the IFML logo animation project, which is now again on pause. Here is a small snippet of the most recent draft 🙂

Lastly, I have been updating AMS lecture powerpoints with Abriella and Athena. The new template is very thoughtful in its composition and color; from these side-by-side comparisons, you can see how much life and visual interest has been added from the old PPTs.

Late Updates

Late Updates

I’m quite the forgetful person, I should start writing reminders to myself to update the blog :’) New assignments have been pretty slow, so I only have visuals from previous workdays. Firstly, I’ve updated my biographic 🙂

About Me

I’ve also worked more IFML animations. Here are more proposals, which I am waiting for feedback on.

My main project however has been developing a second Adobe AfterEffects training for the KB. Once I start developing assets for the assignment, I look forward to sharing them here.

I also have a meeting tomorrow with an old STA who handled animation for the design and coding team; I anticipate that his advice will help me greatly. Although I have some formal training in After Effects, my knowledge of AE is primarily self-learned. Talking to someone else who is well versed in the application will be a greatly beneficial perspective alongside mine.

More Training Assignments

More Training Assignments

Incoming work has been pretty low recently so I’ve been knocking out the last of my training assignments in the meantime 🙂 Here is a highlight of all that I’ve learned for Adobe Illustrator. I’ve also recently updated the STA Banner to reflect the current staff (welcome Relena) for the spring semester!
