I scheduled photo sessions for our client in Plan2 for the Terry and Forty Acre scholar feature stories. I will incorporate some feedback from Suloni for the banner that i will design when all the photos have been taken. I expect to have the feature designed and uploaded by Friday of next week, depending on whether or not I can schedule the remaining Terry scholars.

I made recommended changes to the site to incorporate Dr. Franklin’s Fall 2011 class. This included enabling class registration, creating new taxonomy terms and establishing new views. As of right now, all her requested changes have been completed, I’m waiting for word on whether or not she wants anything additional.

Made changes to the site’s theme. I mainly added box shadows to the navigation and content areas. I played around with the box-shadow feature and Ming gave me a tutorial. Everything has been completed.

Began creating a “carrot and stick” banner for the Maddox Wiki. I’m still working on this and hope to have it completed early next week. Ming gave me the heads up to email the Maddox folks and tell them they can begin adding content to the site (this will require a tutorial).

project: Pitch Perfect Pinyin

The practice portion of the Pitch Perfect Pinyin site is coming together. See what I’ve been working on here. In sum, Parts 1 and 3, along with the styling of the page was completed this past week. I’m still working on parts 2, 4 and 5 and developing a solution to display two columns of questions per row. I’ve run into a small wall with the latter – making two columns with the questions is easy to do in a PHP for loop, but I’ve found out it interferes with how the JS checks the answers. Eachgets checked and if two question columns exist in that row, only the first set of questions gets corrected. After my JS and CSS solutions both failed (see below), I’m thinking I have to reconfigure the current code to incorporate <div(s)> instead of <tr(s)>. Since the content is not completely tabular, in that data in the rows can exist as their own columns, divs can be used as an appropriate method for displaying everything. I hope to finish the final three parts this week and next.

I finished designing two mockups for a new and improved STA wiki.After some discussion and advice from Suloni, we’re moving towards this mock up design.Once a few more things are done, I can start theming the site on a dev version of the site.

project: Pitch Perfect Pinyin

I met with Ran a couple times to discuss this project and where it needs to go. During the weekend, I began testing an example template that Ran created before leaving. I will be taking over the creation of a quiz interface and its functionally. Ran left me a good start and it’s now my job to finish what’s left. I’m super excited about this project, as I will gain some valuable experience using PHP, jQuery and Javascript. This project should take up the majority of my hours in the remaining weeks.

Another project Ran left.I also discussed what has to be done to finish this project.It will involve adding audio to 4-5 sets of flash cards and coding/populating several video and audio quiz sections.Another very exciting project that I can’t wait to start.
