So, I started working on a Theatre Philosophy project with Stacy. This is my first time working with WordPress and Python, so it’s been a different experience. Here are photos of some before/after work that was simply just displaying the content onto the page. However, today I met with Stacy and it turns out that the client wants to take a little bit different of a direction so stay tuned for changes to this site!
Today I did my first COLA ID with Suloni’s help! I’d never used PhotoShop before so it was definitely both a learning and cool experience. I know that this ID is not the best … but the original image that we had to work with was very very poor. As Suloni put it, this ID reflects “Sanika’s best handiwork, but not the photographer’s best handiwork.” I actually really liked working with the IDs and I assigned myself a couple more so that’s fun!
This is what my code looks like in testing/in reality. (It’s still a bit rough but would be polished by the time it rolls out!!)

Description/plans: Build the interface for UT”s Appstore which will house different downloadable features to Canvas.
It is CRAZY to be writing this post. I can’t believe that my first (and big!) project is completely done. I wish I’d taken original photos from the very beginning that way I’d be able to do a better before/after but I suppose those are notes for next time. Chris & the admin that I met with said that the Appstore should go into testing sometime this week & would be put out for actual use next semester! HOW COOL! 🙂
I’ve got some pretty cool news. Today I attended my first UI meeting with Marla. I showed her & other administrators the website so far & answered some questions about the design. Chris and I are EXTREMELY close to finishing the second (and final!!!) part of the Appstore, we’re just waiting on Jac’s approval so that we can either roll it out to testing or make some changes.

That the picture that I included was a rendition of the “last” version of the Appstore & that it was the “last” version because Jac still had to look at it? Well, I ran the design by Jac today and sat with her and Chris resizing some of the text and cards so that it looked better from a design standpoint. I won’t include a picture because Chris still has to make one final edit & because I do not want to jinx this “last” version!
