Jane Austen Posters

This week I was assigned to design two poster for Dr.Barchas. The first poster is for the Garden Tral with important locations marked in roman numerals. The second poster features a library card with ‘Jane Austen’ stamped in the front. There were some misunderstandings with the library card poster so it is not the finalized version.

The library card on the poster is cropped out from a photo of the actual card.

Patch Design

I did a quick patch design for LV4 STA. I was going to make it a fourth dimension cube, but it ended up becoming 4 cubs overlapping.

Theater Set

Theater Set Final

I finally finished the set designs for TD301!!!!

It was pretty discouraging when I first sent in the images for testing, because the colors were not accurate at all on the big monitor. Originally we thought the blue would be the main issue, but yellow turned out to be the color that is having the most trouble.

To make the yellow appear more less green, I added more orange tones and enhanced the gradience. I also added the UT logo and stars as a finishing touch to make things stand out more. I made a very short animation for with the stars and lights twinkling and the UT logo flying by, but it took forever to export. Overall I am very happy with how it turned out, I really enjoyed drawing all the lights and using bright colors~

Theater Set Design & Assets

Animation Assets

This week I mainly focused on the Theater Set design and this is the only asset I did for animation. It was harder than I thought to come up with these different designs for shopping bags, thank GOD there are a few solid colored ones. I would’ve gone crazy with the colors, but there’s a set of colors that I need choose from. My favorite is the pink on with hearts of course, but I also really like the green one with pink stripes because I think it has a nice summer vibe, like a watermelon hehehe…

Theater Set Design

I was mainly preparing my files for animation this week, making sure all the layers that I want to be animated are separated and such. I am also in the process of making some changes in the art, such as making the masks more stylized and less illustrative, making the frames look less stretched, and more centered, wider stage light. I also made a blimp for the animation because the one Tate had was very realistic, and I want to make it more cohesive with my other vector arts.
